CDOC World Team Driver Report - ALMS Miller Motorsport Park
May 18, 2008 — Tooele, UT —
CDOC World Team Drivers Johannes van Overbeek and Darren Law enjoyed solid results at Miller Motorsports Park in the high desert of Utah on Sunday. van Overbeek, whose teammate Patrick Pilet qualified the #46 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in 3rd position, pitted during an early caution, and then came back through the field to finish second, their third podium of the season.
Darren Law again did double duty this weekend, racing a Porsche Daytona Prototype in Grand-Am competition at Laguna Seca Saturday, then commuting to Salt Lake City to take part in the ALMS race Sunday. Law’s teammate Seth Neiman concentrated on setup and qualifying for the race, and started from 14th. The duo finished the race 6th in class, another solid result for the team.
In all, it was a good day for the Lizards, as Jörg Bergmeister and Wolf Henzler claimed their third victory of the season thus far, consolidating the team’s points lead over Tafel Racing. Bergmeister, van Overbeek and Neiman will team again at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, with momentum now clearly on their side.
The American Le Mans Series will take its traditional summer break for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Series will resume July 11-12 at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut.
