The Daytona Prototype class has led the series since 2003. Inaugural champion Terry Borcheller, David Donohue, JC France and CDOC World Team Driver Darren Law have been racing Daytona Prototypes since that class debuted in that year's Rolex 24 At Daytona. Hurley Haywood was part of that group until this year's Rolex 24, when he stepped aside to direct the team from the management side.

However, we're talking about the entire Rolex Series, and our leader would probably have been active in one of the other classes since Grand-Am debuted in 2000. Of that group, not only has Law been active with Grand-Am since 2000, he led the series in mileage in 2000 and posted the third-best total in 2001 and 2003. To date, Law has raced 17,790.358 miles in Rolex Series competition, most in series history.

"Wow, I've got quite a bit of miles under my belt," said Law, who raced in both GT and SRP II for Synergy Racing (then G&W) before driving the Synergy Picchio Daytona Prototype. Law teamed up with David Donohue in 2004, and the pair has co-driven the No. 58 Brumos Racing Porsche since then.

"I love GT cars, but I've enjoyed the Daytona Prototypes the most racing in Grand-Am," Law said. "Mainly, because it's so competitive. Whether you're first or 15th, you're fighting with somebody all the time. It's great racing."

Second on the all-time list is a driver who's raced just about everything. Andy Lally led the series in both 2001 and 2006, and has a career total of 16,397 miles. His 2006 total of 3,551.418 miles is also a series single-season record. Borcheller ranks third at 14,961 miles, followed by Max Angelelli, 13,779; Andy Wallace, 13,661; Bill Auberlen, 13,275; Scott Pruett, 13,160; Haywood, 13,040; Shane Lewis, 12,564; and Butch Leitzinger, 12,411. Other drivers to lead the series in annual mileage in statistics compiled by Grand-Am's Don Abbott were Didier Theys, 2002; Haywood, 2003; Wallace, 2004; Angelelli, 2005; and Pruett, 2007. Currently, Marc Goossens leads Angelelli by 10 miles in 2008 competition.

Law also leads 17 drivers who have competed in all nine Rolex Series seasons. Of the top 10 mileage leaders, Lally, Borcheller, Wallace, Auberlen, Haywood and Lewis also raced every year. They are joined by David Murry, Randy Pobst, Craig Stanton, Max Papis, Emil Assentato, Mike Fitzgerald, Boris Said, Marc Bunting, Ralf Kelleners and Sascha Maassen. Doug Goad, Cort Wagner, Chris Gleason and BJ Zacharias will join this group by completing one lap of 2008 competition.
