Dream car?
1953 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe

What's your best / first / most powerful car memory?
Riding cross country in my "playpen" — my Mom's 1967 Volvo 122 red two door coupe's back seat — as she spent my toddler years distracting herself driving East to West visiting friends and family along the way while my Dad was in Vietnam. When he returned, back in the car again, the manual shift transmission and roaring B18 four cylinder revving, following the Penske Racing Team around where my Dad worked until 1973. I still love a great road trip, drive a version of the same car nearly once a week — a '67 Volvo 123GT Red Coupe and love my Mom so much for all that she exposed me to on these trips.

What collegiate or pro sport (apart from racing) do you root for?
Go Eagles!, Go Sixers! — being from Philadelphia I can't help it, there must be something in the water there that keeps the Philly spirit alive in the fans who have lived there despite all that we have endured season after season. Recently after relocating to central Virginia, I have opened my mind and adopted the NCAA Division 1 UVA Cavaliers.

What draws you to the performance racing industry?
My primary aim is to live each day doing something I am passionate about. The automotive industry gives me that opportunity at every turn, whether in our day to day business dealings or in pursuit of my passion when driving on the street or track.

Colin Dougherty Family

Family? (Spouse, kids, siblings, etc.)
I am surrounded by really wonderful people everywhere I look and in all aspects of my life. That said, here's a snap shot of life on the farm where I live with my best friend Chrissy, my daughter Caroline, two English Bulldogs Boss and Elvis, and our herd of pure breed Tarentaise Cattle who my Sister, Kara, loves to pet when she visits from Dublin. My Father, Bill Dougherty, who runs the family's car service, race prep and fabrication operations for 30 years in West Chester, Pennsylvania is amazing and has always been my hero and a wonderful source of inspiration.
